About

"Habits are attractive when we associate them with positive feelings..." -James Clear, Atomic Habits

The mission of TrueBallerBooks.com is to encourage hoops lovers everywhere to read about one of their favorite passions: the amazing world of basketball.  Reading is a super power.  It can open up whole new worlds of opportunities, and give rise to new dreams you never even knew you had locked up inside.

I don’t know about you, but for me, reading for reading’s sake can seem like a major chore.  But that changes when you read about subjects that truly interest you.  When this realization came to fruition in my life, I became a reader.  My interests, passions, and curiosities led me from one book to the next, and it no longer seemed like a chore!  It truly  became an adventure!

That’s what I want to do for you, my readers.  I want to provide you with resources to hoops related literature, so that reading becomes an adventure for you too!  Before you know it, you can build up your reading super power while reading about the game that you love!

Literacy Crisis

There are many who say America is in the midst of a literacy crisis today.  You can read about that here.

There is a strong correlation between low literacy and poor performance in school.  Students are more likely to drop out of school if they are low literate.  These issues contribute to social ills of all kinds.  Parents, educators, and community leaders can do battle against low literacy with the right tools.  This is also my humble hope for this site.  That TrueBallerBooks.com can be a tool to encourage reading.

Chris Pullman

I have been a middle/senior high school social studies teacher for 18+ years. Over that time, I have coached middle school basketball for 10 seasons. I have watched countless JV and Varsity games as a spectator, and as a score board operator for several years. Basketball has been a part of my life throughout my youth, and I hope to continue to share the richness of the game with others through the content on this site.
